THE ENTREPRENEUR.

BLEEDING AND LONELY HEARTS EPISODE 2..
It is called professional code of conduct. Men’s lives can be moulded and controlled. A soldier would notice another soldier from the use of his left foot, a teacher would notice a fellow teacher and a nurse would always pick a doctor no mater what was the level of disguise. This was how Betty met Doc. Palin. The neatness and his meticulous way of doing things gave him away. The couple were engaged in a conversation briefly. “Betty told Doc. Palin she had been seeing him in the shopping centre recently.” Women know how to find the answers to their questions without actually asking the questions. When Doc, Palin agreed Betty could visit him, she knew there was no woman in there. To explore more facts regarding what he did and where he worked. She started talking about some nice patients in her ward. The Doc could not help but gave himself away. He told her he had just moved in from abroad. “Is there a nurse in your life?” This question ended the conversation abruptly. Betty had got all the facts she needed to work on to her advantage. With time and space in her favour, she could win come what may.
That night the Doc had got two women to battle for. The night was so long as he slept very little. His mind was clouded with the good times he had with Dalinda. The fact that he was forced to do something he would not have done if only everything was equal, he was tormented. He was very certain Dalinda would understand. This meant life and death for him so he would take the plunge without thinking.  He was sure Betty held the key to his future. He could not tell if Betty knew the full facts that he had got seven boys and three girls, she would still compromise. A dozen less two children would be too much. So he held back. He told Betty he had just finished training so he came over to gain some experience. Betty fell for that. Legislation had robbed Dalinda of her husband. Doc Palin knew there was no way Dalinda could come in. There was no way he was going to get a job if he did not regularise his stay in the country. “Just a few lies, I shall make it to Dalinda later.” He had betrayed the loving mother of his children.
The marriage was on a low key. Betty refused to move in with Doc. Palin. The Doc knew fully well he was inviting trouble if he moved in with Betty. He was surely going to end up in the street when the cat shall be let out of the bag. The CV was put together, the new residential status and personal details were sent in the to the Health Board. The appointment letter came. The postings were made. The couple celebrated. Doc. Palin was sent to the Mental Unit in line with his studies. He ended up being third in command of the unit. The unit was headed by Senior Surgeon Ghavedul. The day he was told it was Doc Ghavedul who brought Betty in to the country he took two weeks sick leave to find a place to move in to and to start looking for another job before he was caught with his pants low. Betty noticed the change but could not tell what had caused it. She regarded it as the ungrateful nature of men, you never know with them, they only use women. So she also made up her mind to turn the rough edge before she was caught on the wrong foot. That evening, Betty’s questions only probed that fact that there was a nurse in the docs’ life. He tried many times to dodge the questions but Betty hit hard home the probing interrogation. The peaceful couple ended up in a fight. Doc Palin ended up in the street. His fears were not founded. He was not intimidated by his boss.
It has been ten years ago when the doc first arrived in the city. During the second year his wife took the children to his mother and got married again. His mother decided not let him know else his life would be turned inside out and upside down.
This morning, the full facts were before him as he landed from the plane. He even did not reach his village yet. He walked in to the Tax Free Shop and paid for a bottle of whisky. In the Gent’s toilet he downed half the content. He moved out, staggering from side to side. Two men approached him. They took his luggage and relieved him of his personal effects including his wallet and passport. He hailed a taxi as he got in he, went to sleep. When the taxi driver was having difficulty in ascertaining from him his destination he stopped and pushed him off on to the pavement. He woke up to realise his world was gone due to his injustice. He could not make it up to any of the women, not even his mother as his wallet was gone.
